  • Inside Sales - Apollo

    Inside Sales – Apollo

    OVERVIEW:

    This candidate will be trained in-house and work with other Inside Sales Reps.  They will work to meet customers’ needs and answer questions in a timely fashion.  They should always have the best interest of the customer and George L. Wilson & Co, Inc. in mind.  This position is located in our Apollo office.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greet customers
    • Help with inventory, ordering, counting, stocking shelves
    • Prepare quotes and follow up on submitted quotes
    • Ship and receive UPS packages
    • Troubleshoot questions from customers
    • Computer experience a requirement
    • Previous sales or construction knowledge, a plus
    • Stay current on existing and emerging product
    • Maintain a professional/working image in self and work environment

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Maintain a friendly, “willing to help” attitude
    • Good time management
    • Organizational skills a must

    REPORTS TO:

    Branch Manager

    HOURS:

    Monday – Friday position 7:30 am – 4:30 pm with no weekend hours.

    DEGREE:

    Associates Degree in Business Management OR equivalent years of work experience

    OUTSIDE SALES – PITTSBURGH

    Responsibilities and Requirements for this position include:

    • Make personal sales calls at customer sites on regular basis
    • Stay current on existing & emerging product and DOT standards
    • Follow-up on all generated quotes
    • Assist customers with problem-solving
    • Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner while representing company on and offsite
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills required
    • Commitment to demonstrate high level of professionalism
    • Ability to lift, carry, and transport work-related materials to client site (frequently weighing 80 lbs, occasionally more than 80 lbs. Company truck provided.)
    • Ability to visit and move around at construction and other work sites, including the ability to maneuver in tight or small spaces.
    • Degree in engineering or closely related field with 3 years of relevant sales and industry experience; or equivalent combined education and on the job experience.

    This candidate will be trained in-house before stepping into outside role. Territory is established but there is always room for growth potential.

  • Jr. Purchasing Agent

    Our Jr. Purchasing Agent will work closely with our other Purchasing Agents. We will train and develop this candidate but expect them to learn and take initiative to do their job well.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Enter purchase orders
    • Support current Purchasing team members
    • Problem solve and support daily invoice transactions
    • Collaborate with purchasing team on daily account needs of current customers
    • Optimize and Improve Organization of Part Numbering System

    Qualifications:
    • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing or related field
    • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
    • Good planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to research various sources for goods and services
    • Ability to compare and organize information
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize and transition between tasks often
    • Strong excel and data entry knowledge helpful

    This candidate will be working hand in hand on projects with Vendors/Customers. A vast amount of learning will be done in this role and could open up a lot of growth and knowledge for career.
