  • Summer General Laborer - WV

    George L. Wilson & Co., the tri-state’s number one source for high quality construction equipment and supplies is currently looking for a General Laborer for the Summer. We have been serving the construction industry in Western PA and West Virginia since 1969.

    Requirements:
    1. High school diploma required, must have basic math skills
    2. Must pass drug screen
    3. Must pass criminal background check
    4. Must be reliable and punctual
    5. Ability to perform physical tasks that are repetitive
    6. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on an intermittent basis

  • Warehouse - Apollo

    TITLE:
    Warehouse Worker – GLW

    OVERVIEW:

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Being able to stand and work on feet for most of the shift
    • Able to lift at least 50 – 100 lbs when required
    • Miscellaneous warehouse duties – i.e. painting, boxing supplies, etc.
    • Must be able operate a forklift
    • Stock shelves
    • Help load and unload trucks for delivery in a safe and timely fashion

  • Warehouse Driver - Apollo

    TITLE:
    Warehouse Driver – GLW

    OVERVIEW:
    Candidate should be energetic, personable and safe. They must enjoy meeting people and be deeply familiar with area nuances, such as back roads and traffic patterns. We provide the vehicle, but you should have a clean background check/driving record and driver’s license. The Driver must be able to lift packages and bend and twist, as necessary.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver packages to customers on time
    • Work in warehouse when needed
    • Move materials from one warehouse to another
    • Do occasional vendor material pick up
    • Interact with customers in a professional manner
    • Complete daily maintenance checks on delivery vehicle and notify manager of any issues
    • Drive in inclement weather, such as light snow and rain
    • Maintain paper logs to track routes and deliveries
    • Get materials to customers in a timely fashion
    • Load and unload materials safely and securely
    • Transfer materials from one warehouse to another
    • Pick up material at local vendors
    • Obtain signatures on delivery and pick-ups
    • Keep supervisor informed of shortages, overloads, or damaged merchandise
    • Connect with delivery point of contact to alert delivery time, delivery restrictions and confirm location
    • Act as a liaison to sales staff about project site needs and new projects in the field
    • When not on deliveries, the driver will assist warehouse personnel in all functions and duties of the warehouse

    COMPETENCIES:

  • Fabricator - Door Dept

    OVERVIEW:
    Fabricating aluminum and other associated tasks in the creation of architectural doors, windows, frames, and similar products.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Punching door rails & stiles (may require flipping material around)
    • Punching frame jambs & headers (may require flipping material around)
    • Prepping parts (may require looking down, using hand tools for a full shift)
    • Assembling doors (may require looking down, using hand tools for a full shift)
    • Welding doors
    • Lifting doors that weight from 25-100 lbs.
    • Operating equipment for a full shift (saw, mill, etc.). This will include lifting, loading, and unloading metal, pushing or pulling carts, and lifting from low carts
    • Packing doors and frames (Requires lifting, twisting, turning, etc)
    • Boxes could weight 1 to 50 lbs. (May require using Stocking hardware room. ladder, squatting, lifting, etc.)
    • Pulling Metal. (Parts could be 24’ and may weight 10 to 125 lbs.)
    • May be required to handle steel bar or channel
    • Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job

    COMPETENCIES:
    • Must speak, read, and understand blueprint drawings
    • Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively read and use a tape measure
    • Ability to use machinery and hand tools to fabricate products
    • Ability to stand for 8 hours on your feet
    • Ability to twist, turn, squat, climb, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift
    • Must have the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
    • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)

  • Accounting Clerk - Pittsburgh

    TITLE:Accounting Clerk – (GLW)

    OVERVIEW:

    Supports accounting operations by filing documents; reconciling statements; running software programs, making collection calls, and managing clients’ accounts that are assigned.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Experience in accounting software systems a plus
    • Knowledge of debit/credit process
    • Microsoft Excel experience necessary
    • Understanding of material certifications, a plus
    • Balance books and complete periodic reports on expenditures, receivables, payables
    • Understands accounting basics skills
    • Check invoices against statements, check credit memos
    • Post journal entries to ledger

  • Glazier - WV

    OVERVIEW:  Candidate will be able to cut, grind, drill and polish glass.  This candidate will handle sheets of glass in the warehouse meeting the specifications of the customer’s request.  This candidate must have previous Glazier experience.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Knowledge how to install glass, doors, frames, and necessary hardware needed
    • Able to lift 100 – 150 lbs with assistance
    • Installs glass in millwork products, such as doors, window sashes, china closets, and office partitions: Places door or sash on worktable and inserts precut glass in opening, or inserts glass as products pass on conveyor, using either of following methods: Inserts precut molding into window opening around edges of glass and taps molding against glass edges, using hammer and wood block.
    • Tacks molding to frame, using hammer or staple gun.
    • Fastens glass into window opening, driving glazier’s points into frame over glass, using point-driving tool.
    • Presses and smoothes putty into angle formed by glass and wood to make joint watertight, using putty knife.
    • Spread sealing compound around edges of opening before inserting glass, using air gun or knife.
    • Fit framed glass into openings in doors and screw frame to door, using screwdriver.
    • Cut glass.
    • May be designated according to glass installed as Door-Glass Installer; Window Assembler.

    COMPETENCIES

    • At least 3 years of experience doing glazier work
    • Professional demeanor at all times
    • Good time management and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of math when using measurements
    • Knowledge how to run all power tool equipment beneficial (Drill, circular saw, etc.)

  • Steel Rebar Estimator - WV

    TITLE:

    Steel Rebar Estimating – WV

    OVERVIEW:

    Candidate will have previous experience in construction project management, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review and evaluate cost estimates
    • Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
    • Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products
    • Ensure timely completion of estimates
    • Understand scope of work to bid
    • Manage bid pricing from all vendors
    • Prepare cost analysis
    • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Experience with fabricating rebar, or doing rebar take off
    • 3+ years’ experience in construction estimating

    • Able to make placement drawings for rebar

  • P/T Administrative Assistant - WV

    TITLE:

    P/T Administrative Assistant – GLW

    OVERVIEW:

    Administrative Assistant will assist management in secretarial duties. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. The ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support, is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Enter purchase orders into a computer from sales tickets or schedules
    • Maintain filing system
    • Manage paperwork accordingly
    • Cross check received orders against purchase orders
    • Be able to reconcile invoices against purchase orders
    • Assisting with billing from our Corporate Accounting Dept

    • Maintain timecard in ADP

    DESCRIPTION: This entry level position involves learning to do rebar take off from construction drawings and specifications.  You will also been trained in using rebar specification and fabrication software.
